The Vaccinial Infection of Fowls of Different Ages in Relation to the Antiviral Power of the Blood *
نویسنده
چکیده
It is known that paralleling the growth of fowls antibody-like factors against many bacteria and foreign cells appear regularly in their blood.' 5, 6 Cancer-inducing viruses are also affected by similar factors.7 The viruses of the Rous and Fuginami sarcoma and of the Mill Hill 2 endothelioma are strongly neutralized by the serum of adult fowls, but the Rous virus, the only one studied in this respect, is generally not affected by the serum of chicks and pullets. It was thought desirable to extend these observations to vaccinia, the virus which induces active cell proliferation promptly followed by necrosis. Levaditi and Nicolau"3 showed that dermovaccine virus adapted to the brain of rabbits (neurovaccine) has lost most of its power to infect chickens. Andervont2 confirmed this observation, but showed that chicks are susceptible to neurovaccine injected into the skin. Chicks die after intracerebral injections of vaccinia and the virus can be passed serially through the brain of chicks. Buddingh4 has described the generalized lesions occurring in chick embryos injected in the chorio-allantois. With the exception of the central nervous system the virus disseminated throughout the whole organism with no evidence of heightened affinity for any special tissue. Guarnieri-like bodies were formed in all the lesions.

Comparison of Hepatitis C Genotypes in Plasma and Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PMBCs) in Hepatitis C-Infected Patients
Abstract Background and Aims: The Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) is essentially hepatotropic but virus compartment has also been found in other important extra hepatic sites. Detection of HCV RNA in extra hepatic reservoirs such as peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) is important for determining of disease progression and effective treatment. The present study aimed to determine of differe...
متن کاملStudy on the Presence of HCV RNA in PBMC as Compared with Plasma of Hepatitis C Patients after Treatment
Background and Aims: Hepatitis C virus is one of the viral infections which is mainly transmitted by blood transfusion. Patients with thalassaemia frequently need blood transfusion and are in danger of HCV infection. In most cases of infection (85%) the virus evades the immune system and establishes a chronic infection that may lead to cirrhosis and liver carcinoma. Liver is the main site of HC...

Background and Aims: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most important common cancers in the world. The main etiology of this cancer in developing and third world countries is due to the infection with hepatitis B and C viruses. Hepatitis B and C viruses (HCV) would both cause liver cancer but the incidence of the disease in relation to the age and gender has not been determined. The ...

Introduction & Objective: Cryptosporidium is one of the important pathogenic agents of gastero intestinal tract of mammals, especially human and domestic animals. This parasite is one of the principal causative agents of mortality in young animals. Considering the zoonotic importance of the parasite, infected animals can be very dangerous to the public health. This study was performed to dete...
